Minister Bak Opened Thematic Winter Camps

Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Osman Aşkın Bak called on young people to take part in Non-Governmental Organizations and said, “NGOs are the conscience of society. "If you are a manager in a club, if you take a child from the neighborhood to the field, help him train, and keep him away from bad habits, you are doing the right things." said.

The Thematic Winter Camps, organized for the 8th time this year by the General Directorate of Credit and Dormitories (KYGM) by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, were attended by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. It started with the participation of Osman Aşkın Bak.

Minister Bak met with university students who came from GSB Dormitories in different provinces and attended the Human Rights and Law Camp held in Istanbul. President of the Court of Accounts Metin Yener also attended the Thematic Camp.

Addressing the young people at the opening program of the camp, Minister Bak said, “There is a nice atmosphere, a nice environment here. I also benefited a lot. You are very valuable. You are especially valuable as our friends in political sciences and law who will govern this state in the coming years. We believe that you will gain valuable information in this camp. Very efficient in my opinion. Especially when I was serving in the parliament, I had conversations with former parliamentarians and former ministers. sohbetI benefited from their state and politics experiences in the years. I find it very valuable that they share their experiences. The information of people who have worked in bureaucracy, politics, and reached certain points in law is very valuable. “It will give you a new horizon, a new perspective.” said.

“Benefit from the experiences of people who have served the state”

Minister Dr. Osman Aşkın Bak emphasized that experience is very important in human life and said, “Listen to people who served the state and held important positions. Listen to the shares of people who will come here. Indeed, experience is very important. That's why I think these camps are very useful. Be sure to take part in non-governmental organizations and especially in sports clubs. Touch young people, help young people to get away from bad habits. Sports is a beautiful thing, youth is a beautiful thing. It's good, your energy is good too, but we need a little more enthusiasm. We need excitement. Not without excitement. Not possible without energy. Not possible without love. When you return, tell your friends about it and make good friendships. We are proud of you, the youth of this country.” made his assessment.

Minister Bak stated that the world agenda is very busy and it should be followed closely and said, “Our world is developing rapidly. The structure of the United Nations is being discussed, the world is bigger than five is being discussed, whether a more just world is possible is being discussed. It is necessary to discuss the latest events in Gaza and Palestine, the murder of children and women, and the world's silence about this. You will definitely discuss these with the relevant experts who will come to the camp during this process. The picture presented by our President in this process, his silence, his mobilization of the world, his meetings with world leaders, his diplomacy and the evaluation of human rights are very important issues. Rising racism, Islamophobia and human rights issues are important. You will discuss all these here, you will see. It would be beneficial for you to follow these.” he said.

“If you keep a child away from bad habits, you are doing the right things.”

Minister Bak called on young people to take part in Non-Governmental Organizations and said:

“If you want to learn human rights in a better way, take part in Non-Governmental Organizations. NGOs are the dynamics of society, the conscience of society. If there is oppression, cruelty, or wrongdoing in your environment, the structures to which you can respond most strongly are NGOs and your own ideas. That's why you need to be involved in NGOs. The purpose of a sports club is to get young people to do sports, to keep them away from bad habits, and to take them away from the clutches of drugs. "If you are a manager at the club, if you take a child from that neighborhood to the field, help him train and keep him away from bad habits, you are doing the right things in terms of human rights and your own conscience."

“Never give up on sports. "Be in sports"

Giving examples from his life, Minister Bak stated that he has been involved in sports for years and said, "Although I am an engineer, I have been involved in sports for years. I played football, coached and refereed football. I officiated a match in England. I was the president of the sports club. I served in such positions as the President of the Confederation of Amateur Sports Clubs and the President of the Turkish Wrestling Federation. Sports seemed to me like a key, like a means of communication. Sports is a part of me, my lifestyle. A power where I integrate with society and civil society. It would be beneficial for you to take part in non-governmental organizations and develop those relationships. I say this as a recommendation. Never give up on sports. “Be in sports.” he said.
