GUHEM is Among the Most Important Centers in Turkey's Space Studies

Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry's first council meeting of the year was held. BTSO Chairman of the Board of Directors, İbrahim Burkay, stated that the point reached by the Bursa Gökmen Project, which was prepared 11 years ago with the claim that 'Turkey's skyman will come out of Bursa', has become a source of great pride and said, "GUHEM, which we implemented in line with the decisions taken by our BTSO assembly, is Turkey's "It has become one of the most important centers in space studies." said.

BTSO January Council Meeting was held at the Chamber Service Building with the participation of council members. In the first part of the assembly meeting, BTSO Council Member Şener Göngör, who passed away last week, was commemorated with prayers. BTSO President İbrahim Burkay stated that they have left the first month of the new year behind and said that increasing financing costs and tough competitive conditions continue to have an impact on production, trade and exports. Stating that the common expectation of all companies is to continue the fight against inflation with determination and to establish price stability and financial stability as soon as possible, President Burkay said that they approach all the problems raised by BTSO members at sectoral meetings with great sensitivity.

“We Are Harvesting the Fruit of the Seeds We Plant”

Stating that they have to use knowledge in production with a mind that will create added value in line with the goal of a stronger Bursa, İbrahim Burkay said, “The academic approach and knowledge at the university must be transferred to production. This is the only way the medium-high and high-tech product range, which we always talk about especially in production, will increase. At this point, we brought a new vision to BUTEKOM, which we founded as a small research unit in 2008, in 2014. BUTEKOM has gained a structure that includes Turkey's largest research and centers of excellence. Apart from being a research center in both technical textiles and advanced materials, such as the Korean Textile Institute - KTDI and Franhoufer, we have put it at the service of our sectors as a production center. Last week, we launched BUTEXCOMP with the participation of our Minister of Industry and Technology, Mr. Mehmet Fatih Kacır. “I hope that our center, which we have implemented with the support of the European Union and our Ministry of Industry and Technology, will be beneficial to our city and our country.” he said.

“University - Industry Cooperation Will Increase”

“We are reaping the fruits of the seeds we have planted together with our council members for more than 10 years.” BTSO Chairman İbrahim Burkay said, “These investments are structures that will realize change and transformation in many sectors that we feel strongly about. “We, as the business world, have to realize a strong and qualified transformation.” said. President Burkay reminded that Bursa Uludağ University ULUTEK and TTO held their general assemblies and said that 100 percent of TTOs are now ULUTEK's partnership. İbrahim Burkay said that much closer work will be done with ULUTEK and Bursa Uludağ University in the coming period.

“GUHEM is Among the Leading Centers in Space Studies”

President Burkay reminded that they held an important event last week at GUHEM, Turkey's space-themed education center. Stating that Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır met with Alper Gezeravcı, who carried out Turkey's first manned space mission, at GUHEM via video conference, İbrahim Burkay said, “After our President, the first live connection with the international space station was made from GUHEM. GUHEM, which is one of the world's leading centers in its field today, is one of the most important outputs of our country's National Space Program. The point reached by our Bursa Gökmen Project, which we prepared 11 years ago with the claim that 'Turkey's skyscraper will come from Bursa', was a source of great pride for all of us. GUHEM, which we implemented in line with the decisions taken by our BTSO council, is now one of the most important centers of Turkey's space studies. We held the ASE 2023 Summit in Bursa in September. Almost all of the 70 astronauts who came to Bursa came to Turkey for the first time. The arrival of 70 astronauts to Bursa is the fruit of BTSO's power and decisions. All of these projects, which are examples for Turkey, bear the signature of our council members who fill this hall. “I thank you all for your support.” said.

“We Will Work with the Goal of Sustainable Growth”

BTSO Assembly President Ali Uğur stated that they left behind the year 2023, which unfortunately had sad events in Turkey and the world, and said, “It is of great importance to implement structural reforms that will enable our business world to make more exports, production, employment and investments. “I believe that, despite all the difficulties experienced with the determination of our business world and the support of our state, we will take steps together to move our city and country economy forward with the goal of sustainable growth.” he said.
