During the search carried out by the Customs Enforcement teams within the scope of the fight against smuggling, the aircraft was seized in pieces inside the truck.
As a result of risk analysis and targeting studies by the Customs Enforcement teams, the trailer carrying the goods containing the Transit Accompaniment Document (TRB) coming from Bulgaria to Turkey was examined.
During the investigation, a 1964 model Cesna F172 aircraft with its wings disassembled was seized from the trailer, which was understood to have not been registered, along with goods containing a Transit Accompaniment Certificate, although it was not destined for Turkey.
