TCDD attaches great importance to the installation of charging stations as electric vehicles become widespread. In this context, TCDD Teknik A.Ş. General Directorate received a charging operator license from EMRA. Thus, TCDD had the right to establish super fast charging stations for electric vehicles.
Super fast charging stations will have a power of 200 kilowatts and will be able to charge electric vehicles in 15-20 minutes. These stations will be integrated into TCDD's existing stations. Thus, electric vehicle users will be able to charge their vehicles and benefit from other transportation services at TCDD stations.
TCDD will gradually implement the super fast charging station project. In the first stage, super fast charging stations will be established at TCDD stations in major cities such as Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Eskişehir, Konya, Bursa, Antalya, Samsun, Adana, Gaziantep, Kayseri, Erzurum, Diyarbakır, Van and Trabzon. Later, super fast charging stations will be added to TCDD stations in other cities.
TCDD's Sustainable Transportation Goals
TCDD aims to contribute to both electric vehicle users and the environment with its super fast charging station project. TCDD will encourage the use of electric vehicles by shortening the charging time of electric vehicles. Thus, it will support reducing carbon emissions and combating climate change.
TCDD also continues to develop railway transportation. TCDD aims to increase the share of railway freight transportation from 2053% to 5% by 22. Thus, it supports sustainable modes of transportation by reducing the burden on road transportation. TCDD is renewing existing railway networks and converting them into electrified lines and plans to increase the railway line length to 28 thousand 590 km.
TCDD is one step closer to its sustainable transportation goals with the super fast charging station project. TCDD is taking an innovative step in the transportation sector by providing convenience to electric vehicle users.
