The "High Altitude Under-Ice Diving" event, organized by Erzurum Metropolitan Municipality at Palandöken Ski Center, was carried out by divers from different provinces.

Divers participating in the event dived into the frozen lake, which is approximately 7 meters deep. Divers stayed in the ice-cold water of the lake for 15 minutes.

Ejder 3200 search and rescue teams were also present at the event, where security measures were taken.

Diving instructor Kadir Erekinci stated that the activity is difficult, arduous and requires effort and said, “In our country, this activity can be done very well. There are many divers abroad doing this, it is a diving that requires experience.” said.

Erencik stated that diving requires coordination and planning and added:

“We dived into the deep lake. We have entry and exit holes. We experienced this here in the summer. I would like to thank Erzurum Metropolitan Municipality, Ejder 3200 and our divers from different provinces of the country for supporting us in this regard. It's not something you can do alone. Under-ice diving requires special equipment and materials. There must be equipment that is resistant to ice and cold. This should be done by experienced people. We opened our station, congratulations to our country and Erzurum. "There is no place like Palandöken in our country."

The event ended with the participation of Erzurum Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mehmet Sekmen.
