Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tahir Büyükakın, who attaches importance to consultation and getting ideas during his visits and meetings throughout Kocaeli, continues to meet with tradesmen and craftsmen. In this context, Mayor Büyükakın met with Darıca tradesmen. Listening to the voices of all segments of society in shaping the future of the city, Mayor Büyükakın stated that they will continue to work for common goals in the collaboration with Darıca's tradesmen and artisans. Stating that they have implemented important services and works in Darıca, Mayor Büyükakın stated that they have completely renewed the infrastructure of 14 neighborhoods in the district.

In his greeting speech, Kocaeli Chambers of Tradesmen and Craftsmen President Kadir Durmuş said, “Our district mayor is one of us. Our Metropolitan Mayor is also a son of a tradesman. "We would like to thank our Mayor of Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality, who institutionalized our Union of Chambers of Tradesmen in a tremendous way," he said. Darıca Chamber of Tradesmen and Craftsmen Aşkın Çolak expressed his gratitude to Mayor Büyükakın for meeting with them and consulting with them. In his speech, Darıca Mayor Muzaffer Bıyık said, “During our term of office, we continued to be in close contact with our tradesmen friends, who are the center of life, to be in constant cooperation and to act with common sense in the management of this city. Talking about the projects carried out in Darıca district in his speech, Mayor Büyükakın said, “Darıca-Gebze Metro continues. A wagon landed on the tracks. They are experimenting under their own conditions. We changed the infrastructure of all 14 neighborhoods in Darıca. The transmission line comes here from Yuvacık dam. That transmission line was directly connected to here, there was no intermediate warehouse. At the slightest fault in the line, the water in Darıca would be cut off. To prevent this from happening, you must have a warehouse. We built a huge warehouse in Darıca. It was a difficult period, but even though we received heavy rain afterwards, our infrastructure passed this test and Darıca became much safer regarding water. While doing it, it becomes mud in winter and dust in summer. On the one hand, it is necessary to do things that will please people, and on the other hand, it is necessary to do things that will really contribute to the city in the long term. There are places where we go 2-3 meters deep. We shouldered the difficult process of compacting and settling that soil. When it rains, my people should not be harmed by floods. That should be the point. And I claim; "This was the period when Darıca received the most investment throughout its history," he said.
