Bornova Mayor Mustafa İduğ announced the promotion amount the worker expects. Mayor İduğ gave the good news that they reached an agreement with Turkish Economy Bank on a promotion of 13 thousand 20 TL instead of the promotion of 500 thousand TL, which they previously canceled because they found it low.

In his statement in front of the service building, Bornova Mayor Mustafa İduğ stated that there has been a full agreement between them and the union since the day they ended the strike that had started on April 2019, 8.

Underlining that the purchasing power in Turkey is gradually decreasing, Mayor İduğ said, “We cannot buy something that we bought for 100 liras two years ago for a thousand liras now. We opened a tender for promotion. While the interest rates were at 30-40 percent, we were not happy with the fact that the money given as a promotion was 13 thousand liras. Thereupon, we reached an agreement with Turkish Economy Bank on the promotional amount of 20 thousand 500 liras.” he said.

Bornova Mayor Mustafa İduğ also gave advice to the workers and said, “I have an advice for you. "When you combine the 20 thousand 500 lira promotion with the salaries you will receive in January, approximately 50 thousand lira will come to your safe." He included his statements.

Mayor İduğ stated that, together with the council members, they promised not to subject their employees to inflation on the day they took office in 2019, and that they will continue to pay salaries on a daily basis, as one of the rare debt-free municipalities in Turkey, as they have done so far.

DİSK Aegean Regional Representative Memiş Sarı stated that they had discussions about the promotion in other districts and that the figures were approximately 11 thousand 12 thousand liras and said, "At this point, I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the agreed upon figure in Bornova." said.
