Republic of Turkey State Railways (TCDD) General Manager Hasan Pezük attended the Executive Board meeting of the International Railway Union (UIC) held in Paris, the capital of France. Hasan Pezük gave information about Turkey's railway projects to the members of UIC, which was founded in 1922 with the aim of developing railway transportation in the world and participated from 219 countries.

TCDD General Manager Hasan Pezük said at the meeting; He made statements about the medium and long-term targets set within the scope of 2019 'Zero Emission' of the European Green Deal signed by the European Union Commission in 2050. Emphasizing the importance of the geostrategic position of our country, which serves as a bridge between Asia and Europe, defined as production and consumption centers, Hasan Pezük touched on the effective logistics activity management carried out in the field of railway transportation and summarized the completed and ongoing projects for the development of the middle corridor. TCDD General Manager Hasan Pezük also touched upon the importance of taking initiative in the activities carried out by UIC in order to reduce regional development differences and improve interoperability, especially in railway administrations covering the Middle East and Central Asia regions.

TCDD General Manager Hasan Pezük presided over the 32nd Meeting of the Middle East Regional Board (RAME) in the afternoon session of the meetings held at the International Railway Union. At the meeting, which was held with the intense participation of member railway organizations, attention was drawn to the importance of studies, solidarity and joint activities to be carried out in regional cooperation by looking at railways from a global perspective. Recent developments in the railway administrations of the member countries were evaluated on the occasion of the meeting, where the importance of regional board meetings, which enable stakeholders to act in unity and solidarity, was highlighted. At the meeting; Emphasizing the importance of disseminating good practice examples among regional member railway administrations, continuing within RAME; The requirements for the development of management, heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems in extraordinary climatic conditions, the use of hydrogen in railways and its risks, the progress and precautions to be taken in the projects of future railway mobile communication systems and dissemination of the new training model in the field of safety were evaluated.
