African country National Zimbabwe Railways (NRZ) Chairman Mike Madiro and his accompanying delegation visited Hasan Pezük, General Manager of the Republic of Turkey State Railways (TCDD).
During the visit, which took place within the scope of the memorandum of understanding in force between TCDD and NRZ, studies to develop comprehensive and long-term railway cooperation between the two countries were discussed. Views were exchanged for cooperation in the fields of railway maintenance and repair, infrastructure development, capacity allocation and traffic management, training and consultancy. Thanking NRZ Chairman Mike Madiro for his kind visit, TCDD General Manager Hasan Pezük said, “We held consultations on joint cooperation issues by sharing our projects and experiences that will contribute to the development of the friendly and brotherly country Zimbabwe railways. "We have determined a road map in line with the needs of Zimbabwe railways." said.
TCDD Technical General Manager Mustafa Özdöner, TCDD Deputy General Manager Öner Özgür and relevant department heads attended the meeting; Zimbabwe Ambassador to Turkey Alfred Mutiwazuka, Zimbabwe Embassy Undersecretary Charles Scott, NRZ General Manager Respina Zinyanduko also attended.
On the other hand, after the TCDD visit, the Zimbabwe delegation made technical visits to Ankara Command Center, Ankara Train Station and Turkish Railway Academy and exchanged views. The delegation also went to Eskişehir by YHT and met with Eskişehir Training Center and Turkish Rail System Vehicles Industry Inc. (TÜRASAŞ) Eskişehir Regional Directorate officials and made technical inspections.
