Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality continues its work to achieve the strategic goals determined within the scope of '2053 Kocaeli Intelligent Transportation Systems Action Plan'. Speaking at the training given in this context, Assoc. Dr. Metin Mutlu Aydın said, "2053 Kocaeli Intelligent Transportation Systems Action Plan made in Kocaeli is an important work and will be an example for other municipalities."

Carried out within the Department of Transportation; Studies on the '2053 Kocaeli Intelligent Transportation Systems Action Plan' are continuing to design and implement an advanced city management system for urban roads and local traffic control that includes Intelligent Transportation System components for the city. In this context, Assoc. Prof., Lecturer at Samsun 19 Mayıs University, expert in the field of Intelligent Transportation Systems. Dr. Metin Mutlu Aydın made his presentations to the Head of Transportation Department, Ali Bilgi, and the participants from affiliated directorates at the event held at Kocaeli Congress Center.
“KOCAELİ WILL BE AN EXAMPLE”
Assoc. Prof. stated that Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality is among the exemplary municipalities in the field of Intelligent Transportation Systems, which aims to create a smarter, safer, more efficient and sustainable transportation network by increasing road safety, capacity, mobility and travel comfort. Dr. Metin Mutlu Aydın stated that it is pleasing that the vision and awareness of the management and technical staff, which are in harmony with world examples on smart transportation systems, are supported by the realized projects and investments. Stating how important the Intelligent Transportation Systems Action Plan is for all cities, Aydın stated that unplanned Intelligent Transportation Systems can cause more harm than good and said, “The 2053 Kocaeli Intelligent Transportation Systems (AUS) Action Plan made in Kocaeli is a first in Turkey. "It is an important work for our country and I am sure that it can lead other cities as well," he said.
