'Disaster Awareness Training Seminar' Held in Ankara

"Disaster Awareness Training Seminar" was held at Polatlı Namık Kemal Secondary School in cooperation with Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Disaster Affairs Department and Search and Rescue Association (AKUT).

In the training, basic knowledge and concepts, preparations to be made before a disaster, correct behavior during a disaster, the first moments after a disaster and basic first aid information were explained in detail.

While 42 thousand students in Polatlı attended the training, which took place in 5 schools on a district basis in Ankara, a total of 18 thousand 270 students at the middle and high school levels attended.

Özkan Erel, Head of Disaster Affairs Department, stated that awareness about disasters is life-saving and said, “We are holding Disaster Awareness and First Aid Training Seminars here within the framework of cooperation with Akut. These trainings were completed today in 12 schools in Polatlı, in cooperation with our Provincial Directorate of National Education and District National Education Directorate, and 5 thousand 230 students in Polatlı received these trainings. Our goal is to reach 25 thousand students across Ankara. Hopefully, we plan to increase these trainings even more.
