Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır announced that, after the World Bank, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) will also provide financial support to the earthquake region.

Minister Kacır shared on his social media account about the "Post-Earthquake Support Project for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises", which was implemented in cooperation with KOSGEB and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

Stating that the project will provide financing to SMEs in the earthquake zone, Kacır said, “We offer our SMEs a new financing opportunity of 36 billion liras with a maturity of 24 months, no payment for the first 12 months, interest-free for the remaining 3 months, with the possibility of 4 equal installments. In the program we started in November in cooperation with the World Bank, we have provided a total of 39 billion liras of support to 680 thousand 12,8 SMEs in the earthquake zone. "As promised, we continue to support our businesses damaged by the earthquake and take steps to revive the regional economy." he said.

Within the scope of the Turkey Post-Earthquake Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Revitalization Project, a new loan agreement was signed with JICA, following the $6 million financial support for businesses in 11 provinces affected by the Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquake that occurred on February 450, in cooperation with the World Bank and KOSGEB.

SIGNATURES

The signing ceremony of the Loan Agreement and Loan Guarantee Protocol regarding the financing to be provided by JICA was held at the KOSGEB building. The Loan Agreement was signed by KOSGEB President Ahmet Serdar İbrahimcioğlu and JICA Turkey Office President Yuko Tanaka.

20 BILLION JAPANESE NEWS

Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır announced that the 20 billion Japanese Yen (Approximately 4 Billion TL) resource provided by JICA within the framework of the signed protocol will be transferred to the businesses in the region within the scope of the "Post-Earthquake Support Project for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises".

IT WILL BE TRANSFERRED TO BUSINESSES WHOSE APPLICATIONS ARE APPROVED

Minister Kacır stated that support applications started to be received after the statement of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on October 31, and that 75 thousand 415 business applications have been received to date, and that the financing provided by JICA will be transferred to the businesses whose applications are approved.

NEW FINANCIAL SOURCES

Stating that they are working as a ministry to find new financing sources with international organizations, Kacır announced that they are also in talks with the Spanish Agency for Cooperation and Development (AECID) and that AECID will also provide financing to the region.

Financial support; It will be implemented for 36 months. SMEs will not make payments in the first 24 months. Payments will be made in 12 installments over the next 3 months.
