A meeting was held hosted by Antalya Metropolitan Municipality regarding the EIT Urban Mobility grant-supported Cermoni Project, which is a public transportation decision support system.

At the meeting, where guests from Italy's Vingola Municipality also attended, developments in the integration process of the software to be implemented as a pilot in public transportation systems in Antalya and Vignola were discussed.

The current needs of Antalya in public transportation were discussed at the meeting held with the participants of Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, software company Parabol in METU Teknokent and Vignola Municipality from Italy. Within the scope of the project, developments in the integration process of the software to be implemented as a pilot in public transportation systems in Antalya and Vignola were mentioned.

EXCHANGE OF OPINIONS FOR PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION

At the meeting, views were also exchanged on Antalya's current needs in public transportation and what solutions could be produced depending on these needs. In the presentation made by Vignola Municipality, the projects carried out within the scope of the Cermoni project, the public transportation system, pre-project transportation planning methods, examination of the difficulties and expected results after the project were explained.

THEY VISITED THE TRAFFIC CONTROL CENTER

A field visit was organized to the Department of Transportation, Planning and Rail System with participants from Vignola Municipality. Public Transportation Branch Manager Osman Günel gave information about the Transportation Call Center, Monitoring and Operation Center and Traffic Control Center. The participants also visited the Antobus Storage Area - Maintenance Workshops and Transportation Inc. Tram Workshop - Maintenance Center and toured the Konyaaltı Coastline with electric, environmentally friendly scooters and buggies used by the Metropolitan Police.

MORE EFFICIENT PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION

Antalya Metropolitan Municipality applied for a project in partnership with Parabol (Turkey) software company and Italy's Vignola Municipality within the scope of the "Targeted Project Call" opened by EIT Urban Mobility Network, and the project named 'Cermoni' was entitled to receive a grant. With the Cermoni application, it is aimed to assign an optimized number of vehicles and drivers to the lines for a more efficient public transportation service in Antalya, reducing fuel consumption, carbon emissions and costs.
