TEMSA, which has pioneered the zero-emission journey in the commercial vehicle market, demonstrates its determination in sustainability with 8 different vehicles it has developed, 2 of which are electric and 10 of which are hydrogen. TEMSA, which introduced 3 models in its zero-emission product range at Busworld Europe, also introduced its intercity hydrogen bus, which it will develop with CaetanoBus and can reach a range of 1.000 kilometers, for the first time at the fair in Brussels.
TEMSA, which has accelerated its global growth with its sustainability-oriented mobility strategy, demonstrated its determination on zero emissions at Busworld Europe, one of the world's most important commercial vehicle organizations. TEMSA came together with commercial vehicle industry stakeholders at the organization held in Brussels, the capital of Belgium, and attended by bus manufacturers from all over the world, and introduced 3 different zero-emission models at its stand.
In addition to its electric city bus, Avenue Electron, TEMSA introduced Europe's first electric intercity bus, LD SB E, to the participants, and also introduced its intercity hydrogen bus, which it will develop together with CaetanoBus, one of Europe's most important hydrogen vehicle manufacturers, for the first time at Busworld Europe. He introduced it.
INTERCITY HYDROGEN BUS WITH 1.000 KM RANGE
The hydrogen bus, the work of which started with the Joint Development Agreement signed last month, will combine the Toyota hydrogen fuel cell technology (Hydrogen fuel cell) used by CaetanoBus in its city buses with the electric and long-distance bus experience of TEMSA engineers. With the technology to be built on the TEMSA HD platform, it is planned that the bus in question will be able to cover a range of approximately 1.000 kilometers with a single tank, depending on different road and geographical conditions. The vehicle, which is expected to go into mass production in 2025, will also be Turkey's first intercity hydrogen bus.
FIRST COMPANY IN TURKEY AND SIXTH COMPANY IN THE WORLD TO BE RECEIVED THE EPD CERTIFICATE
Making evaluations at the press conference held at the fair, TEMSA CEO Tolga Kaan Doğancıoğlu emphasized that they pioneered zero-emission transportation in every geography they operate in, with the business models they built on sustainability, and said, "Today, we have a wide range of products in our product range, 8 of which are electric and 2 of which are hydrogen. While we demonstrate our commitment to sustainability with 10 different tools, we constantly improve our business processes and business models with a focus on sustainability, in coordination with global platforms such as CDP, SBTi, Global Compact and Ecovadis. Finally, we were entitled to receive the EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) certificate with our Avenue Electron bus that we exhibited at the fair today. "The fact that we are the first manufacturer in Turkey and the sixth in the world to receive this certificate through a bus gives us a special pride," he said. Underlining that they see sustainability as a holistic business culture, Tolga Kaan Doğancıoğlu said, “When we take 2021 as the base year, by the end of 2022, our water consumption per vehicle will increase by 19 percent; We reduced our Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 29 percent. "Today, at the TEMSA production facility, we provide 100 percent of the electricity we use from renewable energy," he said.
“WE PRODUCE 1 UNITS OF SOCIAL BENEFIT WITH 14 UNIT OF INVESTMENT”
Adding that TEMSA allocates approximately 5 percent of its turnover to R&D activities every year, despite all the variables in the global economy, Tolga Kaan Doğancıoğlu said, “This determination on innovation gives us great strength as we move towards our sustainability goals. In this way, while we increase the efficiency in our production processes, we also increase the sustainable business models within TEMSA. Today, among all our R&D activities, the rate of studies directly related to sustainability is over 50 percent. Of course, we do not evaluate the issue of sustainability only in terms of innovation and efficiency. In line with our holistic sustainability road map that covers all elements of ESG, we are commissioning pioneering projects that consider social benefit. "Together with the exemplary projects we have implemented in the fields of art, sports and literature, TEMSA has today turned into a 'social mobility company' that produces 1 units of social benefit as a result of every 14 unit of investment it makes," he said.
61 PERCENT GROWTH PERFORMANCE ON EURO BASIS
Adding that TEMSA is strengthening its presence in the global market day by day, Tolga Kaan Doğancıoğlu said, “In 2023, while we demonstrate a 30 percent growth performance in North America, which is among our priority markets, our market share here will be 20 percent.” He approached. In Euro terms, 171 percent in the EMEA region; In Western Europe, we achieved growth figures of 77 percent. When we look at the whole world, we have a growth performance of 61 percent in Euro terms. The main factor in achieving these is that we act with a customer-focused holistic approach. "From our production processes to marketing, from sales to after-sales services, we see adding value to our customers as our basic principle," he said.
