Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu said, “Within the scope of the International Road Federation (IRF) 2023 Global Achievement Awards; Zigana Tunnel was chosen first in the 'construction methodology' category, and Eğiste Hadimi Viaduct was chosen first in the 'quality management' category. "Especially our Eğiste Hadimi Viaduct achieved a significant success in this category by being chosen first by all juries," he said.
IRF announced the 2023 Global Achievement Awards. IRF, which awards innovative projects and successful names working in this field with the award ceremony held every year, from Turkey within the scope of 2023 Global Achievement Awards; The Zigana Tunnel Project was deemed worthy of an award by choosing the best project in the 'construction methodology' category and the Eğiste Hadimi Viaduct Project as the best project in the 'quality management' category.
Minister Uraloğlu reminded that the projects implemented by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure were previously deemed worthy of awards by IRF and said, “Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge will be awarded in the 'design' category in 2019, 1915 Çanakkale Bridge and Motorway will be awarded in the 'project finance and economy' category in 2021 and 2022 in the 'project finance and economy' category. Again, the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge and Motorway was deemed worthy of the first prize in the 'construction methodology' category. Within the scope of IRF 2023 Global Achievement Awards; Zigana Tunnel was chosen first in the 'construction methodology' category, and Eğiste Hadimi Viaduct was chosen first in the 'quality management' category. In particular, Eğiste Hadimi Viaduct achieved a significant success in this category by being chosen first by all juries. Our projects have achieved significant success, surpassing the projects of countries such as China and Taiwan. "These awards also reveal the importance of our country's development and progress in the field of engineering," he said.

Stating that IRF has awarded more than 30 projects from 150 countries so far, Uraloğlu said, "The Zigana Tunnel, which is the longest double-tube highway tunnel in Turkey and Europe, and the Eğiste Hadimi Viaduct, which is the highest freestanding viaduct in our country, are among the highest in the international arena." We are extremely proud that it was selected as the best project and deemed worthy of an award. The real owner of this success and pride is our nation that trusts us. IRF 2023 Global Achievement Awards will be given at the "Roads to Tomorrow (R14T)" conference to be held in Arizona, USA, between 17-2023 November 2.
