Over-age Transportation Will Continue to Be Free in Istanbul

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and IETT continue to provide free transportation services to passenger groups that have the privilege of free travel within the scope of law no. 4736.

Passengers over the age of 65 living in Istanbul will continue to use their free travel rights both on IETT's own buses and on all vehicles belonging to private public buses.

Thanks to the ÖTİS (Private Transportation Operating System) that came into force in Istanbul in 2020, both passengers and private public buses do not experience any inconvenience.

Thanks to the financial support of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality within the scope of ÖTİS, the decision taken in some other provinces to not provide free service to passengers over 65 years of age is not valid in Istanbul.
