The number of foreigners coming to Trabzon in the 9 months of this year increased by 66 percent to 652 thousand 713, while domestic visitors increased by 20 percent to 486 thousand 30 people. In August, when the Sumela Culture Road Festival met with art lovers, 178 thousand 875 foreigners and 86 thousand 95 local visitors came to the city. Sumela Monastery, one of the symbols of Trabzon, hosted a total of 2023 thousand 9 local and foreign visitors in the 39 months of 402, with a 718 percent increase compared to the same period of the previous year.
Countries sending the most visitors to Trabzon
In the list of countries sending the most visitors, Saudi Arabia took the first place in Trabzon with 269 thousand 216 visitors. Oman ranked second with 58 thousand 397 visitors, Kuwait ranked third with 41 thousand 809 visitors, and the United Arab Emirates ranked fourth with 41 thousand 598 visitors. Jordan ranked fifth with 33 thousand 886 visitors, while Iran, Iraq, Israel, Bahrain and the Russian Federation were the countries that sent the most visitors to Trabzon, respectively.
