The number of visitors to Şahinkaya Canyon, which is located in Vezirköprü district of Samsun and is the second largest water canyon in Turkey, is increasing every year. Stating that approximately 2023 thousand people visited the canyon in the summer of 70, Samsun Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mustafa Demir said, "I invite all of Turkey and the whole world to see Şahinkaya Canyon, which is a natural wonder."

Şahinkaya Canyon, located on the Altınkaya Dam Lake in Türkmen Mahallesi in Vezirköprü district, offers people an insatiable view with its natural beauty. Şahinkaya Canyon, located 17 kilometers away from Vezirköprü district center, attracts attention with its feature of being the deepest and thinnest part of the Altınkaya Dam. The canyon, which is approximately 500 meters long, has an average water depth of 106 meters, and an average height of 350 meters, amazes those who see it with its majesty as a passage where the Kızılırmak River finds its way among the steep rocks.
