Çamönü Dam in Akhisar started to hold water. On October 2, 2023, DSI General Manager Mehmet Akif Balta announced that water was retained in the dam. Balta announced that the dam body filling has been completed and the spillway, water intake structure and valve room manufacturing has also been completed. Stating that the physical realization rate has reached 90%, Balta said that water is kept in the dam.

Çamönü Dam is being built in Manisa's Akhisar district for the purpose of irrigating the Akhisar Plain. The body height of the dam is 41 meters from the foundation, the body volume is 1.5 million cubic meters, and the irrigation area is 2.270 decares. It is aimed to provide water to the fields from the dam in the summer season of 2024.

The fact that Çamönü Dam started to hold water is an important development for Akhisar and the farmers of the region. With the completion of the dam, irrigation of agricultural lands in the region will become more efficient and farmers' incomes will increase.
