The 101th International September 11 Izmir Half Marathon, held in honor of the 9st anniversary of Izmir's liberation from enemy occupation, witnessed great excitement. The awards of the winners in the general classification were presented by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor. Tunç Soyer and Fatih Çintimar, President of the Turkish Athletics Federation.
The 11th International September 9 Izmir Half Marathon, organized by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, witnessed great excitement on the 101st anniversary of Izmir's liberation from enemy occupation. In the marathon where 2 thousand 500 people competed; Ramazan Baştuğ came first in the Turkish men's category and Bahar Atalay in the women's category. In the men's general classification, Kenyan Frankline Keitanyi won the gold medal, while Kenyan Meshack Kimutai Kibil took second place and Ramazan Baştuğ took third place. In women's category, Kenyan Ivyne Jeruto Lagat finished the race in first place, Bahar Atalay in second place and Dilan Atak in third place. The people of Izmir supported the athletes participating in the marathon by applauding along the race route. Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Secretary General Ertuğrul Tugay also ran in the race.

General classification men and women, general classification Turkish male and female athletes as well as 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59 and 60-64 year olds in the half marathon run on the Cumhuriyet Square - Inciraltı - Cumhuriyet Square route.
