The winner of the Red Bull Oil Pole, one of the most traditional and entertaining events in Turkey, has been announced. The Red Bull Oiled Pole, in which the participants tried to take the Turkish Flag from the tip of an oiled pole, was held in Trabzon on July 8 this year with 46 participants. At the end of the fierce struggle, the winner was Özkan Yağız.
The event, which continues to provide pleasant moments to the audience and participants every year and has been held as a Red Bull Oil Pole since 2021, brought together excitement and passion on 8 July at Trabzon Ganita Port. At the Red Bull Oiled Pole, 46 participants fought hard to get the flag on the end of the pole, which was placed at an angle of 40 degrees, covered with grease. Özkan Yağız was the winner in the tough fight that lasted for three hours.
Tough Challenge in Red Bull Oiled Pole
At the event held in Trabzon Ganita Port, the participants fought hard to grab the flag at the end of the 12-meter-long pole covered with grease. After three hours of challenging and fun, Özkan Yağız became the name who managed to take the flag in the 5th round. Stating that he attended the event to have fun, Özkan Yağız said, “I am very happy that I won. We had a lot of fun here today, and we also made good friendships. My goal was to have a good time. Besides, grabbing the flag was an extra part of the fun," he said.

In the Red Bull Oiled Pole, which has become a classic in Turkey, the participants try to pick up the Turkish Flag at the tip of the pole, which is placed at an angle of 40 degrees and covered with grease. In the competition, where the participants take turns running to the end of the pole, the first person standing and receiving the Turkish Flag becomes the hero of the day.
