The news about the increase in urban public transportation fees in Konya aroused great interest in the public. Konya Metropolitan Municipality decided to raise bus and tram fares due to the increase in costs. Known for years as the cheapest metropolitan city in Turkey, Konya, the decision to raise ticket prices, will affect those who use public transportation.

In the tariff effective as of January 1, student tickets were determined as 2,50 TL and adult tickets as 4,50 TL. However, due to rising costs, increases in fuel prices and rise in personnel costs, a new price hike was decided. According to the decision taken at the UKOME meeting, starting from Monday, July 3, student tickets will be 4 TL and full tickets will be 8,5 TL.

With this hike decision, those who use public transportation in Konya will pay higher ticket prices. It is stated that the new tariff was taken in order to meet the costs and ensure the sustainability of public transportation. It is important for passengers to organize their travel plans and budgets considering this new tariff.
