Work continues at full speed in the Kartepe Cable Car Project, where Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality has turned a 50-year-old dream into reality. Work is underway to erect 43 poles, varying in length from 45-16 meters, for the Kartepe Cable Car, where Kocaeli and tourists will reach the summit of the Samandag Mountains by following the Izmit Gulf and Sapanca Lake at the same time. The foundation concrete of the pillars is poured, and the preliminary preparation works have started in the storage area before assembly. The installation of Derbent Station, the first leg of the Kartepe Cable Car Line, has also been completed. Work continues at Kuzuyayla Station.

14 IN THE SUMMIT IN MINUTE

The cable car journey between Derbent and Kuzuyayla will take 14 minutes. The cable car will start at an altitude of 331 meters and rise to 1421 meters. During the journey, passengers in the cabin will have the chance to watch the magnificent view of the Gulf. The 16 poles to be erected on the route will be 200 meters from each other. The height of the poles from the ground was also planned as 43-45 meters. The assembly of the rollers at Derbent and Kuzuyayla locations, which are the starting and ending points of the cable car route, has also been completed. A total of 4 poles with a length of 695-43 meters will be erected on the cable car line between Derbent-Kuzuyayla, which is 45 thousand 16 meters long.

10 CABIN, PER 50 PERSON

The cable car line that will run between Derbent and Kartepe will be an attraction center in terms of tourism in summer and winter and is 4 thousand 695 meters long. The system will consist of a single rope, detachable terminal and cabins for 10 people. In the cable car project, which will include 2 stations, 73 cabins will serve. The elevation distance on the cable car line with a capacity of 500 people per hour will be 90 meters.
