Akkuyu Nuclear Participated in the International AtomSkills Championship

AtomSkills-8, the 2023th Professional Excellence Industry Championship organized by Russian State Nuclear Energy Corporation Rosatom, has ended. Akkuyu Nuclear A.Ş participated in the international competition as a team.

AtomSkills, the largest nuclear industry championship in Russia, brought together about 9 participants from 2 countries. Competitors competed in 40 different professional competencies. Akkuyu Nuclear team took part in 6 special categories: radiation monitoring, chemical laboratory analysis, technological systems of energy facilities, environmental problems, electrical installation and engineering. Akkuyu NPP Project was presented by experienced Russian experts and young Turkish engineers working at the construction site of Turkey's first nuclear power plant.

Akkuyu Nuclear Inc. Radiation Safety Department Specialist Berk İlbay shared his impressions of the championship with the following words:

“Before I started work, I attended Akkuyu NGS personnel training program and studied at one of the best universities in Russia. I gained a sought-after profession and experience in the nuclear industry. That's why I'm very happy. We studied quite a bit in college, now we're in business and had the opportunity to join AtomSkills. This type of large-scale event allows everyone to showcase their best qualities. Our team gained tremendous professional experience by participating in the championship for the first time. During the championship, which took place in a wonderful and friendly atmosphere, we met colleagues from other companies and shared our experiences of working at the world's largest nuclear construction site.”

Akkuyu Nuclear Inc. Seda Yürekli, who works as an expert in the Information and Communication Technologies Department, explained her experience of participating in the sectoral championship as follows:

“I was amazed by the scale and atmosphere of the championship. In the competitions that lasted for 4 days, we encountered interesting tasks and met many of our colleagues. All this gave us positive energy. I will be pleased to apply the knowledge and experience I have gained at AtomSkills in the nuclear field, which is new for the Republic of Turkey. Such competitions will of course also help to grow professionally.”

AtomSkills championship aims to develop a professional environment. The competitions also contribute to the exchange of knowledge and experience among nuclear experts of different generations. The championship also offers participants additional opportunities for career advancement.
