The countdown has begun for the Gemlik Film Festival, which will be held for the second time this year by the Gemlik Municipality.

The first day program of the festival, which was organized in memory of the unforgettable name of Turkish Cinema, Eşref Kolçak, has been announced this year, as it was last year. The festival to be held between 20-23 July; It will start with the opening speech at the "Cinema Technologies Exhibition in the 100th Anniversary of the Republic", which will be open to visitors throughout the festival in Zeytindalı Square. After the opening speech of Gemlik Mayor Mehmet Uğur Sertaslan; head of the jury Hale Soygazi, jury members Ezel Akay, Güven Kıraç, Eyüp Boz, Yiğit Güralp; Festival guests Burcu Kara, Serdar Akar, Erkan Can, Gonca Vuslateri and Cezmi Baskin will visit the exhibition. Gonca Vuslateri and Cezmi Baskin will hold a conversation at Zeytindalı Square after the exhibition.

Gonca Vuslateri and Cezmi Baskin will meet with the people of Gemlik after the screening of the movie "International" to be held in Zeytindalı Square. The first day program will end with a concert by Hüseyin Turan, one of the valuable names of Turkish Folk Music.

With the participation of special guests, the festival will continue for four days; There will be exclusive film screenings, exhibitions, concerts and talks from Turkish Cinema. The films that won the awards in the Short Film Competition of the festival, which will be held between 20-23 July, will be chaired by the legendary name of Turkish Cinema Hale Soygazi, director, producer and writer Ezel Akay, actor Güven Kıraç, writer and creative producer Yiğit Güralp and cinematographer and producer. The jury will be determined by strong names such as Eyüp Boz.

The applications for the competition, where the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes, as well as the Honorable Mention, Special Jury Award and Pre-Jury Special Award will be given, have been completed. This year, a record was broken with 474 film applications for the short film competition within the scope of the Festival.
