Izmir Metropolitan Municipality continues its efforts to strengthen sea transportation. With the increasing use of ferries, the Metropolitan Municipality, which rolled up its sleeves to offer comfortable transportation to passengers, renewed Üçkuyular Ferry Pier.

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Department of Transportation has completed the renovation works at Üçkuyular-Ferry Pier, where the frequency of voyages has increased with the increasing vehicle and passenger capacity. The existing passenger waiting hall and toll booths at Üçkuyular Pier, where 7 ferries within İZDENİZ serve with a frequency of 15 minutes, were renewed. Vehicle platforms, bus stops and parking area in the open area of ​​the pier were also arranged by the Department of Science Affairs and İZBETON teams.

Increased vehicle waiting capacity

The passenger hall, which has an area of ​​28 square meters, has been increased to a total of 96 square meters, 72 square meters of which is closed and 168 square meters are open. The air conditioning system was created in the new passenger hall with a seating capacity of 84. Screens have been placed in the hall so that passengers can follow the departure times. The vehicle capacity in the ferry vehicle waiting area was increased from 152 to 278. A parking lot for 70 vehicles has been created in the area. Thus, the traffic jam in this area was prevented. The two toll booths at the entrance of Üçkuyular Ferry Port were renovated and given a modern look. The editing works cost 9 million 103 thousand liras.

Arrangement works will also begin at Bostanlı Pier

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality will go out to tender in the coming days to renew the passenger waiting room at the Bostanlı Ferry Pier and to build a bicycle-scooter-motorcycle parking area in front of the pier.
