The Umbrella Academy season 4 cast confirmed some BIG news about the series, and we've updated the release timeline for the final season of the Netflix original series.
Umbrella Academy season 3 kicked off on June 22, 2022, and we finally learned what happened between the Umbrellas and Sparrow Academy. The last time we saw our favorite Hargreeves brothers, they were battling the Commission and trying to find a way back home. But everything changed when they returned to today's timelines.
Now, in Umbrella Academy season 3, they have to deal with the fact that the Sparrows are now living in their house. As Number Five (Aidan Gallagher) points out in the trailer, they've created a time travel paradox and they need to figure out how to fix it. There is never a dull moment with this team!

Yes! On August 25, 2022, Netflix announced that The Umbrella Academy season 4 is on the way. It's unfortunate that fans have had to wait this long between the release of season 3 and the announcement of season 4.
The Umbrella Academy season 4 is the final season.
According to Deadline, the fourth season will also be the final season of the series. While this is definitely bittersweet, we'll have at least one more season to finish things off with the characters.
Most Netflix shows don't make four seasons. Many never even get a second season. It's great that after all this time, the cast and creative team chose the ending and acted on their own terms. What will these conditions be? Well, it will be really interesting to see, especially considering how season 3 ends.

Series executive Steve Blackman has confirmed that The Umbrella Academy will only have six episodes in season 4. There were 10 episodes in each of the first three seasons. So, it will be slightly shorter than the first three seasons.
The Umbrella Academy will have 36 episodes when the season ends.
We know you're upset about The Umbrella Academy's shortened final season, but there's good news on the way.

We don't know all the episode titles of The Umbrella Academy season 4 yet. Although Netflix gives fans a glimpse of the episode titles of some shows months in advance, we probably won't find this information until just before the final season.
We do know the episode of the first episode of season 4 though. Blackman shared the caption of the season 4 premiere on Instagram, which is "The Unbearable Tragedy of Getting What You Want". Written by Blackman and Jesse McKeown.
Blackman also revealed the title of the season finale, "The End of Beginning."

Nick Offerman, Megan Mullally, and David Cross have been confirmed to star in The Umbrella Academy season 4. Offerman and Mullally, who are married in real life, will play Drs. Gene and Jean Thibedeau in the new season. Cross will play Sy Grossman.
There are reasons to expect players from previous seasons, including Sparrows in season 3, to return for season 4. It's a short season so there may not be room for everyone but I think we can see Cazzie David, Genesis Rodriguez, Britne. Oldford, Justin Cornwell and Jake Epstein in season four.

First, the production ended in season 4. That bodes well for those hoping to see the final season on Netflix soon. Of course, there is still a lot of work ahead of the creative and post-production teams, but now that production is over, we need to start learning a lot more about the new season, including story insights, new cast and characters, and more.
The Umbrella Academy has long anticipated the release of season 4 in early 2024. However, interestingly, Reddit spies shared a story from Dark Horse Comics claiming that The Umbrella Academy season 4 will arrive in 2023! That would be great, and it's certainly possible with production ending in May.
If all goes well and Netflix steps up, we definitely have a chance to see the new season by the end of the year. The WGA strike is likely to delay filming for at least a little more time on a number of Netflix productions. Netflix may position The Umbrella Academy season 4 as a November or December release date.
However, at the moment this is still somewhat of a remote possibility.
Release Forecast: Maybe late 2023, but definitely early 2024
Netflix always puts on a big series in the sci-fi or fantasy genre in February or March. We think season 4 of The Umbrella Academy could be the show in 2024.
