President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made the official opening of the Vaniköy Mosque, which was restored by the Kalyon Foundation. Kalyon Foundation voluntarily undertook the restoration of Vaniköy Mosque with the mission of “loyalty to the past, value to the future”. A qualified research and documentation study was carried out for the correct and complete implementation of the principles of preserving the Vaniköy Mosque. The design process of the mosque took 8 months. As of the end of July 2021, the project was approved and implemented. Vaniköy Mosque, which was revived in 100 months by a team of 20 people working day and night, was opened to worship last March.

Vaniköy Mosque was revived using original materials by bringing the pine timbers from Dursunbey, the oak timbers from Yenice and the marbles from Marmara Island. The ground floor of the building was designed as a library. 600 carefully selected works in the history, cultural life, mystical and architectural fields of Istanbul and the Bosphorus were opened for the use of everyone who visits the mosque.

The woods that burned in the Sultan's mahfel were placed in the mosque with a partition wall to show the traces of the fire. Burning woods were also used in the design of outdoor lighting and placed in the garden of the mosque.

The 358-year-old historical Vaniköy Mosque, which is the pearl of the Bosphorus and one of the rarest mansion mosques of the Anatolian Side, was largely destroyed by the fire on November 15, 2020; The wooden roof and the mahfil section were completely burned, and the interiors of the Hünkar Pavilion became unusable.
