Rize Governor Kemal Ceber announced that the tea in the catering menu of Turkish Airlines (THY) will be offered under the name "Rize Tea".
Negotiations of Rize Governor Kemal Ceber to present the tea in Turkish Airlines' (THY) catering menu on all domestic and international flights with the geographically marked 'Rize Tea' have been concluded.
Governor Kemal Ceber, in his request to THY for this issue, which is very important for the promotion of Rize; Expressing that as Rize, they attach great importance to the national and international recognition of its tea and they strive for this, he reminded that they received the geographical indication of 'Rize Stream' in this area.
Governor Kemal Ceber noted that they wanted the tea, which is an important source of livelihood, social cultural value and geographical indication of Rize, to be named as 'Rize Tea' in the catering menu of THY. He stated that this would both support promotional activities and add meaning to Rize tea, which constitutes 72 percent of tea production in Turkey, is the only tea in the world that has snow on it, does not use any chemicals, and has its own unique aroma.
Governor Ceber stated that presenting the tea with the name of Rize Stream in accordance with the geographical indication registration will both determine the truth, support the promotional activities and surrender the right of Rize, and this will make all its citizens happy.
Governor Ceber stated that he is very happy for the positive results of his long-standing initiatives and wished that this development, which is very important for Rize tea and raises the level of tea, would be beneficial for Rize and tea producers.
