Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality distributed 3 reflective vests to bicycle and electric scooter drivers within the scope of "June 6 World Bicycle Day" and "Highway Traffic Safety Week".
Reflective vests, which were made mandatory by the Metropolitan Municipality Transportation Department with the amendment made in the general regulation of highways, were distributed to the drivers on the bicycle path on Nail Bilen Street. The aim of the event is to increase the use of the environmentally friendly and healthy transportation vehicle, the bicycle, and to raise awareness for safe driving.
Bicyclist Serkan Bayraz, who said that he is satisfied with the bicycle paths made by the Metropolitan Municipality, said, “I think one of the best investments of the Metropolitan Municipality is the bicycle paths. The metropolitan is distributing vests for the world cycling day today. We're so glad. We recommend it to everyone for security reasons. I will use it from now on."
Soner Servet Kanlı, on the other hand, stated that he uses bicycle paths while going to school and work, “The bicycle path is safer for me. Because when I come from the normal traffic road, they always honk even if I am at the corner. Not safe. It's safer for me to take the bike path. "I walk around in reflective clothes at night," he said.
Resul Yılmaz, who stated that he received his bicycle as a gift from the Metropolitan Municipality, also mentioned that he uses a bicycle regularly and said, “I go with it when I go to school. Very nice bikes distributed by our municipality. We wear these vests to be safer day and night,” he said.
