Üsküdar University Founding Rector, Psychiatrist – Writer Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan was awarded the "Golden Writer" in the psychology category with his book "The Psychology of Wisdom", in which he wrote 'Quantum mechanics, neuroscience and psychiatry analogy'. In his speech at the ceremony, Tarhan said, “We forget that we are a part of a great meaning as human beings. This is what the psychology of wisdom shows.” He pointed out that wisdom will save the future of humanity and that the synthesis of ancient wisdom and science is needed.
Held with the motto of uncovering the undiscovered mines of the world of literature and science, the Golden Pen Awards met their owners with a magnificent ceremony in the Golden Author and Golden Book categories this year.
At the award ceremony, which took place for the third time in Mihrabat Grove, awards were presented to authors in many book genres such as novels, poems, essays, travel, children's and health.
The author, whose books have been translated into many languages and attracted international attention, Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan was among the awardees.
Prof. Wisdom Psychology 1-2 was deemed worthy of the award in the 'Golden Author' category with his works. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan expressed his gratitude in his speech at the ceremony and expressed his journey as a writer with the following words:
“There are some questions about the point science has reached in the 21st century. These are the three things that oppress the human spirit: 'Nothing, obscurity and uncertainty.' In fact, thinking and writing is an effort to find answers to these three pressures. Against this, man is in search of meaning, peace and solace. While searching for this, nightmares of modern man such as depression and stress emerged. We forget that as human beings we are part of a greater meaning. This is what the psychology of wisdom shows. You are synthesizing the sciences of religion with the sciences, in satisfying the mind in the search for meaning, in satisfying the heart in the search for peace.
Tarhan summarized the emergence of the Wisdom Psychology study with these words: “Nature is much more than what we see right now. After quantum physics, it was understood that there are black holes beyond the speed of light, a universe where the speed of light begins and ends. The emergence of quantum entanglement showed that materialism could no longer provide a solution. It was necessary to explain and understand the meaning to the spirit in an issue that matter could not solve.”
Wisdom will save humanity
Author Tarhan, who was awarded the "Golden Author" award for his book series titled "Psychology of Wisdom", said, "When we ask what is science, there is a misconception that 'religion is separate from science'. We cannot prove that there is no God in the universe. Then everything in question is science. If faith and religion enter the laboratory, it is science. Here is my book 'The Psychology of Wisdom', a study that overturns this misconception. Wisdom will save the future of humanity. Therefore, a synthesis of ancient wisdom and science is required. In this book, I have tried to make this synthesis. Because the science of the future is going in that direction. He concluded his words by saying, “I am very happy that my book brought a different perspective to young people and attracted attention.”
