XO, Kitty is finally available to watch on Netflix and tons of people are watching the new teen drama. It tells the story of To All the Boys, as fan favorite character Kitty Song Covey embarks on a journey to find true love.
New York Times bestselling author Jenny Han created the series for Netflix. Incredibly talented actress Anna Cathcart stars as the adorable Kitty in this spin-off of the hit To All the Boys movie trilogy. Kitty is now 16 years old and has decided to move to the other side of the world to Korea to reunite with her long distance boyfriend and learn more about the life of her deceased mother.
Since the show is set in South Korea, you may be wondering if the cast and crew actually filmed there as well. As always, this is no problem for us. Just below, we shared where XO, Kitty was filmed.
XO, Kitty filming locations
Principal photography took place from March 2022 to June 2022. The cast and crew actually filmed XO, Kitty in South Korea. More specifically, the show was primarily filmed in the nation's capital, Seoul.
Scenes were shot at various locations in and around the city, such as Ssamzigil shopping mall, Gyeongbokgung Palace, and Bukchon Hanok Village. A scene was also shot at Stylenanda Pink Hotel – 3CE. You can see this women's clothing store in episode 1 when Yuri (Gia Kim) does clothing shopping there. Sketchers and On the spot Myoungdong and cosmetics store Banila Co. Shops on the strip near Stylenanda Pink Hotel – 3CE are also shown. You can see these stores as you pass them on your way to Kitty in episode 1. KISS. It is unknown where the KISS scenes were filmed, but they were most likely shot in a building somewhere in Seoul.
In addition to Seoul, scenes were shot in Incheon, South Korea, especially at Incheon International Airport. For example, when Kitty arrives in South Korea in episode 1, she arrives at Incheon Airport. Also, the scene where Kitty leaves South Korea to return to Portland in episode 10 was filmed at Incheon Airport.
