Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Murat Zorluoğlu hosted Qatar Airways officials. During the visit, it was given the good news that mutual flights between Trabzon and Doha (the capital of Qatar) would start on 16 June.
Trabzon Provincial Culture and Tourism Manager Tamer Erdoğan, Qatar Airways Southern Europe Regional Manager Mate Hoffman, Turkey Manager Evren Ökmen and Black Sea Region Sales Manager Okan Cedetaş visited Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Murat Zorluoğlu. The authorities gave detailed information to President Zorluoğlu about the reciprocal flights between Trabzon and Doha, which will start on June 16 and will be held three days a week.
WE TARGET THEY GO HAPPY TO THEIR HOME
Expressing his satisfaction with the visit, Mayor Zorluoğlu said, “We see it as a very valuable step that one of the world's leading airline companies, such as Qatar Airways, will operate direct flights to Trabzon three days a week. Despite our increasing tourism potential in recent years, it is pleasing that direct flights have increased. As Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality, we make great efforts to make Trabzon, an important tourism city, more livable. It is our biggest goal to happily send off every guest who comes to Trabzon from Qatar, Doha, the Middle East or other parts of the world.”
WE ARE THE RISING STAR OF TOURISM
Emphasizing that Trabzon is the rising star of tourism, Mayor Zorluoğlu said, “We are implementing our projects one after the other in order to diversify tourism and tourism in Trabzon. We are carrying out important studies on Uzungöl and Sümela Monastery, which are among the most important tourism destinations of our Trabzon, which hosted more than 700 thousand tourists and earned more than one billion dollars in tourism income last year. We believe that our Ganita-Faroz Coastal Arrangement Project, which we put into service in the past days and is highly appreciated by our fellow citizens, will attract the attention of local and foreign tourists. Yalıncak Beach, which we opened again in 2021, has become a frequent destination for our tourists. After Ganita-Faroz, we are working with all our strength to not complete our Akçaabat beach arrangement and our new Boztepe living center quickly, but to put it into service.”
Görkem: THREE DAYS A WEEK WILL BE OPERATED
Qatar Airways Turkey Manager Evren Görkem thanked President Zorluoğlu for his hospitality and said, “We are pleased to launch direct flights to a very important tourism destination like Trabzon. We will meet an important need by launching direct flights to Trabzon, which has a special place in the Arab world and Gulf countries due to its nature, culture and social structure. The reservation requests that are still going on show how well we have taken the right step. We planned reciprocal flights three days a week on Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday. As demand increases, we will re-evaluate the number of trips. I wish our direct flights to Trabzon and the business and tourism circles in Trabzon to be beneficial.”
