Tour of Sakarya bicycle races witnessed great excitement. The owner of the orange jersey was Martin Laas from Estonia in the races that continued in different stages for 4 days. Bereznyak, the star name of Büyükşehir, achieved the 3rd place in the general classification. The excitement at Bike Fest will continue with Mountain Bike Eliminator World Cup races on Sunday, May 21.

Bike Fest organized by the Metropolitan Municipality in Sakarya, which has the title of Bicycle Friendly City, gave the audience an exciting time with adrenaline-filled races. Speed, passion, enthusiasm, excitement and competition were intertwined in the last stage (Karasu) of the Tour Of Sakarya, a road bike race that continued for 4 days. 138 teams and 13 athletes from 14 countries pedaled on the tough 68-kilometer track, which was a fierce competition.

Cutthroat competition

In the last stage of the Tour Of Sakarya, Xianjing Lyu from the Chinese national team was the first to cross the finish line. Estonian Martin Laas took the second place from the Astana team. In the third place, Aliaksandr Bereznyak, the star cyclist of Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality Cycling Team, came to the finish line.

After the final stage results, the general classification leader of the 4-day Tour Of Sakarya races was also announced. Winning the general classification leadership, Martin Laas from Estonia became the owner of the orange jersey, the color of which was inspired by the pumpkin, the symbol product of Sakarya. UCI officials presented their medals to the winning athletes.

Metropolitan Bereznyak on the podium

Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality Pro Team, which started the Tour of Sakarya races with 6 athletes, completed the 4-day races with 4 athletes. The star name of the team, Russian athlete Bereznyak, came in 3rd in the general classification. Sychuhou, one of the metropolitan cyclists, ranked 10th, Louiche 36th and Alizada 62nd in the general classification.
