The renovation works initiated by the Metropolitan Municipality on the Mollaköy Bridge, which provides crossings over the Sakarya River, have come to an end. After the operations on the bridge, which was deformed over time, hot asphalt was also laid. After the maintenance and repair works on the guardrails and pedestrian roads, the bridge will be opened to vehicle and pedestrian traffic.

Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality is renewing the bridges and roads in the neighborhood crossings, which are under its responsibility throughout the city. The Metropolitan, which carries out operations on many bridges in the countryside and in the center, has also taken an important step for the bridge that has been a problem for years in Mollaköy.

Transactions have come to an end

The body and foot connections of the bridge, which crosses the Sakarya River, provides transportation between the neighborhood and the city center and is therefore an important route, were damaged. Metropolitan reinforced the ground with bored pile application and renewed the bridge abutments and decks. Considering the fact of earthquakes in all its works, the Metropolitan has installed an earthquake wedge for the bridge to provide uninterrupted service for many years.

On the upper part of the bridge, where vehicle and pedestrian traffic will be provided, 250 tons of hot asphalt was laid with the renovation work initiated. After the maintenance and repair works on the guardrails and pedestrian roads, the bridge will be opened to vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
