Marmaris International Culture and Art Festival (MKSF), organized for the first time last year by Marmaris Culture and Art Association (MAKSAD) in cooperation with Marmaris Municipality, focuses on the Ancient City of Amos in its second year.

The festival, where many star artists and teams will be guests, will also be colorful with many different paid and free events such as exhibitions, talks, choir and street concerts.

Aiming to highlight one of the 14 ancient cities within the borders of Marmaris every year, MKSF focuses on the Ancient City of Amos in its second year. The theme of the 2023 Marmaris International Culture and Art Festival, inspired by the city, which provides a cultural development where an artistic demand rises thanks to the rich products obtained by using today's current and environmentally friendly methods in a geography that is not very suitable for agriculture, is "From the Power of the Soil to the Magic of Art". was determined as.

The local press conference of Marmaris International Culture and Art Festival 2, which is preparing to host art lovers between June 26-2023, 2023, took place on Tuesday, May 23. Marmaris Mayor Mehmet Oktay started his speech by thanking MAKSAD managers and sponsors and said, “We want the festival to be permanent in Marmaris and to be an event that achieves stability in a sustainable way.  A COLORFUL PROGRAM

Marmaris International Culture and Art Festival 2023 will host a wide program of free and paid activities, from classical western music, jazz and blues concerts, as well as choir and street concerts to panels, talks, exhibitions and workshops. After the opening ceremony to be held at the Armutalan Cultural Center (AKM) on Friday, June 2, the festival will begin with the opening concert of the Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Orchestra, which will be held at the Marmaris Open Air Theater, free of charge, under the direction of conductor Eray İnal.

The ceramic sculpture work, which ceramic artist Pınar Baklan will start to make for Marmaris on June 3 and coincides with the theme of “From the Power of the Earth to the Magic of Art”, will be open to the public for 10 days at 19 Mayıs Square.

Having performed more than three thousand bar performances since 1994 and taking the stage at numerous festivals after their debut album Chicago Istanbul Mainline released in 2000, the band MOE JOE will blow the blues wind in Marmaris with a free concert at Netsel Marina on the evening of 3 June.

The rich cultural heritage of the Bozburun Peninsula will meet with art in a free concert by the young composer and pianist Burçe Karaca with the MAKSAD Festival Orchestra on Sunday evening, June 4, in the authentic atmosphere of the historical church ruins in Orhaniye Martı Marina.

Golden Horn Brass, Turkey's first and longest-running copper wind quintet, which was founded by Begüm Gökmen in 2006 and has managed to continue its activities uninterruptedly, will be in front of the people of Marmaris with a free concert on Monday, June 5, at 19 Mayıs Square.

The exhibition titled “Dialogues with Frida”, curated by Atilla Güllü and consisting of the works of seven women painters on the visual dialogue they have established with Frida, will be open for the duration of the festival since Tuesday, June 6th. Antakya Civilizations Choir, which is excited to carry the message of social peace and brotherhood to all geographies of the world with beautiful melodies, will appeal to the ears with the songs it will sing at the Marmaris Open Air Theater on Thursday, June 8, and to the hearts with the messages it gives. The choir, which is an important representative of the region affected by the 7 February earthquake, in which 6 of its members lost, in the field of culture and arts, was invited to the festival as the guest of honor.

Selen Beytekin, one of the young and successful voices of the jazz scene with the energy she reflects in her music, will fill the skies of Marmaris with cheerful, lively and rhythmic melodies with her concert on Saturday, June 10 at Marmaris Open Air Theatre.

The Turkish Waltz concert, which will take place on Wednesday, June 14 at the Marmaris Open Air Theatre, will bring together Cihat Aşkın, MAKSAD Festival Orchestra and Hatay Academy Orchestra members on the same stage. In the concert where the arrangements made by Oğuzhan Balcı including string instruments and Turkish music instruments will be performed, Aşkın will be both the conductor and violin soloist, while Yaprak Sayar, the talented voice of Classical Turkish Music, will perform the unforgettable waltzes.

Founded in 1985 as the chamber ensemble of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra; After 30 successful years, the Berlin Philharmonic Piano Quartet, which continues on its way with the same artistic spirit despite a generational change in 2015, will perform a repertoire that includes classical, romantic and modern quartets as well as new and undiscovered works at Marmaris Open Air Theater on Monday, June 19th.

On the evening of Wednesday, June 21, Marmaris will experience another first; İş Sanat Wednesday Stage will hold a large-scale meeting with music lovers in Marmaris with the free concert of Yeni Türkü in Atatürk Square.

On Thursday evening, June 22, Sevgi Yolu will turn into Festival Street with the colorful performances of many jazz, blues, classical and tango groups, and will offer Marmaris residents an unforgettable night. In a similar performance to be held at Atatürk Square on Friday, June 23, the groups will be filled with improvised music with the Jam Session, which will be held after their solo concerts.

Continuing its artistic life in Stuttgart with its international staff, GeoTRAIN Jazz band will share their refined, surprising, modern and entertaining works in the genre of World Jazz, in which they blend the music of different countries and cultures, at the concert they will give at the Marmaris Open Air Theater on Saturday, June 24.
