Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality has started another exemplary work for the disabled, this time after the Cemil Meriç Barrier-Free Life Center, which provides services for young people. Construction work has started for an important step for our disabled citizens and their families. An excavation is being carried out in the Gebze People's Garden (former Gebze Military Barracks) for the Gebze Barrier-Free Life Center, which was announced by Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tahir Büyükakın and the tender of which was held in recent months.

EXCAVATION STARTED

Gebze Millet Garden, one of the vision projects of Gebze, will contain many social, cultural and entertainment areas. Kocaeli Metropolitan, which will build structures for the Gebze National Garden to be used for many different purposes, first started the construction of the Gebze Barrier-Free Life Center. In this context, excavation works are carried out for the construction of the center.

SPECIAL EDUCATION CLASSES, SPORTS AND ACTIVITY ROOMS

Gebze Accessible Life Center, whose construction works started after the tender, will also include hydrotherapy pools, day care units, special education classes, skill development and vocational training workshops, sports and activity halls, cultural and artistic development academies, libraries, and recreation and social areas. The center will also include administrative offices, changing rooms and showers. All disabled individuals in the mentally handicapped, down, autistic, physically handicapped, hearing impaired, visually impaired and chronic disability groups will be able to benefit from all these opportunities.

LIFE CENTER WILL BE 2 STOREY

The total construction area of ​​the Gebze Barrier-Free Living Center, which was started to be built by the Metropolitan Municipality, will be 6 thousand 755 square meters. The living center will be built as 2 floors on the basement and ground floor. In the project to be carried out by the contractor company that won the tender, a 26 square meter basement floor is planned as a shelter, staff changing rooms, showers, women's and men's toilets, boiler room, technical volumes, while on the ground floor of 2 thousand 931 square meters, therapy rooms, activity workshops, teachers' room, administrative offices, There will be male-female hydrotherapy pools, changing rooms, shower cabins and male-female toilets. On the 2st floor of 595 thousand 1 square meters, there is a gym, dining hall, multi-purpose hall, library, classrooms, activity workshops, administrative offices, locker rooms, a meeting room and a toilet for men and women, while the second floor is planned as a warehouse.
