China called for the creation of favorable conditions for the security of nuclear facilities in Ukraine. Geng Shuang, Permanent Representative of China to the United Nations, in his speech at the Security Council meeting where the security of Ukraine's nuclear facilities was discussed, stated that the parties should create the necessary conditions for the resumption of dialogue and the preservation of the security of nuclear power plants.

Geng Shuang emphasized that the security of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant is only one aspect of the Ukrainian crisis, and that the solution to this problem ultimately depends on the perspective of the political solution of the Ukrainian crisis. Geng also emphasized that all parties involved should focus on peace and security, noting that influential countries should play a responsible and constructive role. Geng said that China will continue to contribute constructively to the political solution of the Ukraine crisis by making efforts to achieve peace and negotiation.

Geng stated that the continuation of the Ukraine crisis poses a serious threat to the security of nuclear facilities in the country, and expressed that the international community, including China, is deeply concerned by the frequent emergence of military operations at and around the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant. He also appreciated the mediation efforts of Rafael Mariano Grossi, Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, and expressed their support for the constructive role played by the IAEA in the security of nuclear facilities.

Geng called on the interested parties to refrain from any action that may harm nuclear facilities, based on humanitarian spirit, scientific and rational attitude, communication and cooperation, by complying with the Nuclear Safety Convention and international law.
