Awareness more than competition

Providing information about Ideathon, the subject of which is climate change and drought, Head of Environmental Protection and Control Department Yıldız Odaman Cindoruk said, “We launched this study within the scope of World Water Day. We are holding our first meeting now. The aim of Ideathon is not only a competition, but also to increase the awareness of the participants and the public on this issue. Therefore, this process has information and workshop parts. We informed the teams about the problems related to drought and climate change in Bursa. In the next stage, the groups carried out group work among themselves with the participation of mentors. In this group study, it was aimed to create an infrastructure for the participants to identify the problems related to climate change and drought. It is also pleasing for us to have teams from Istanbul, Van and Bilecik outside of Bursa. There will be an idea camp in the next process. Afterwards, the top three will be determined among the projects prepared. I wish success to all teams,” he said.
