The "Soil Reinforcement and Restoration Application Construction Work of Arches at the East Entrance of Halilurrahman Lake" carried out by Eyyübiye Municipality under the coordination of Şanlıurfa Governorship has come to an end.

A collapse was detected in the area where the porticoes are located on the eastern façade of Balıklıgöl, which is the symbol of Şanlıurfa, and the area was taken under protection by the decision of the Şanlıurfa Cultural Heritage Preservation Regional Board. The strengthening and restoration works, which were initiated by Eyyübiye Municipality under the coordination of Şanlıurfa Governorate and planned to be completed on April 11, were delayed for a while due to the earthquake and flood disasters.

The strengthening and restoration works, which started again with the return of life to normal, have reached the final stage. The portico stones, which were previously numbered and dismantled, began to be reassembled. Balıklıgöl, whose soil was strengthened with the bored pile method and whose drainage channel was renewed, will begin to welcome its guests with its reinforced facade in the coming days.

In the earthquake disaster on February 6, Balıklıgöl's water was both elevated and muddy. Facing flooding in the flood disaster that took place in the center of Şanlıurfa on March 15, Balıklıgöl both overflowed and had deep blue waters.

The Balıklıgöl basin, which was completely cleared immediately after the flood with the instruction of Eyyübiye Mayor Mehmet Kuş, will continue to offer its visitors a unique visual view in the new tourism season, with the completion of the restoration works.
