Countdown Has Started for High School Entrance Exam

LGS (High School Entrance Examination), which all 8th grade students and their parents are eagerly waiting for, will take place in two sessions on Sunday, June 4, 2023 this year.

Stating that they are preparing to leave behind another successful academic year, İzmir Private Çamlaraltı College General Manager Gülçağ Gençer wished success to all students in the High School Entrance Exam.

Gençer stated that it is normal for students to experience exam excitement as they approach the end of the intense and stressful working process and for families to be excited with their children during this process.

“Now it is time to reap the rewards of your hard work and rest. Exams will come across you at many stages of your life, the important thing is your devoted work and effort that you have shown so far. Exams are not the purpose of life, they are just a means to reach your goal. As Çamlaraltı Family, we wish success to the students who will take the exam.”

THINK POSITIVELY, REDUCE STRESS

Çamlaraltı College Psychological Counselor and Guidance Teacher Selen Özden, who gave some tips to students about LGS, drew attention to the importance of being physically and cognitively ready for the exam.

Selen Özden, “Determining whether an exam is easy or difficult; whether repetitions are made with a systematic study. It is an effective method to minimize the excitement of the exam by giving weight to the trials as the exam is approaching and solving the trials by keeping the clock and using the time management correctly. Creating your sleep pattern until the exam day will allow you to sleep more comfortably on the evening of the exam and wake up more comfortably in the morning. In the last few weeks, it is extremely important that you stay away from physical activities that may tire you and cause you to get sick or injured. It is perfectly normal to be anxious before or during the exam. Thinking positively and doing breathing exercises for certain periods will reduce your anxiety. In cases where you are anxious, regular breathing through your nose will help you slowly.

BE AT THE TEST PLACE HALF AN HOUR BEFORE

Expressing that it is necessary to go to the exam site at least half an hour before, Selen said, “Have a breakfast as usual on the morning of the exam. It would be better to choose comfortable clothes instead of tight and tight clothes that will affect your blood circulation. Going to your school 30-45 minutes early will allow you to adapt to the environment. Listen carefully to the supervising teacher's explanations before the exam begins. Be careful not to spend too much time on a question during the exam. Do not forget to apply the tour technique by marking the questions you are stuck with and leaving them blank. Don't be afraid of graphic, figurative questions that seem long or complex. These questions may be simpler than you think, with a lot of clues, contrary to what it seems. There will be a 2-minute break between the 45 sessions in the exam. Do not discuss exam questions. Even a question that you realize you did wrong can negatively affect your exam performance in the numerical session.
