Taking a leading role as Turkey's only dairy congress, the 3rd National Dairy Congress (USKO 2023) will be held at Ankara Cer Modern on October 05-06. Industry professionals and academicians who are experts in their fields will participate in USKO 2023, which will be organized by the Dairy Technology Department of Ankara University Faculty of Agriculture with the organization of the Mixed Group. This year's main theme of the congress, which acts as a bridge between academia and the dairy industry, was determined as "The future of the dairy industry from a sustainability perspective".

Our country is among the top ten countries in the world and among the top three in Europe in milk production. Turkish dairy industry is on par with developed countries in terms of technology usage level. Anatolian lands also have an important place in the historical process as a transit route for the milk and dairy products culture to reach Europe. In order for Turkey to have a say in world markets by making good use of these advantages in milk, it is imperative that its structural problems be resolved. In the National Dairy Congress, which is the only one in its field in Turkey and will be held for the 3rd time this year, very valuable scientists, academicians and representatives of sector companies will discuss the future of the dairy industry and develop solution proposals with a common mind.

'Sustainability' will be one of the important topics at USKO 100, which will be held at Ankara Cer Modern on 90-05 October, hosted by Ankara University Faculty of Agriculture Dairy Technology Department, which also celebrates its 06th anniversary in the 2023th anniversary of the Republic. The effect of the European Union's Green Reconciliation process on the Turkish dairy industry, the studies on this issue and the road map will be discussed with the CEOs at the Congress, which was organized by the Mixed Group.

The deadline for submitting abstracts at the 3rd National Dairy Congress (USKO 2023), where the best oral and poster papers will be awarded, is 14 July 2023.

Ankara University Faculty of Agriculture, Dairy Technology Department Faculty Member and USKO 2023 Congress Organizing President Prof. Dr. Barbaros Özer said that the 3rd National Dairy Congress, where science and technology-based growth strategies will be discussed primarily in order for our country's dairy to exist in international competition, aims to be an important platform where all stakeholders of the dairy value chain will exchange information. Stating that USKO 2023, which is organized with the main theme of the future of the dairy industry from a sustainability perspective, will bring innovative and seminal scientific studies to the agenda. Dr. Barbaros Özer said, “Scientists, future dairy industry employees and important names of the industry will come together in our two-day congress. We will organize sessions where we will discuss the position of the dairy industry from the perspective of sustainability, food and health relationship, hygienic design and food safety. There will also be a poster award for young researchers. One of the main goals of the congress is to strengthen university-industry communication and to promote a collaborative working culture. In the 100th anniversary of our Republic, at the Congress, where we will mirror the development of milk education and milk technology in our country in the 100-year period, we want to keep their memories alive by naming each of our sessions the names of our faculty members who are not with us today and who have worked in dairy in Turkey.”
