Painter Yusuf Ahmet Fitoğlu's exhibition titled “Gift” was opened at İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Çetin Emeç Art Gallery. İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Mustafa Özuslu, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Secretary General Ertuğrul Tugay and many guests attended the opening of the exhibition. The exhibition can be visited until April 16.

The freedom we need

Speaking at the opening of the exhibition, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Mustafa Özuslu stated that each painting has a different story and said, “There are many stories in the background. There is freedom. There is a journey. What we call art is freedom itself. Free artists produce. The artist will not be afraid, he will not feel under pressure. This is what we need. It is very valuable that those who guide us with their art enlarge and multiply their art without feeling any anxiety and present it to us. This important work teaches us that we need to look at life from a different perspective. I hope the people of Izmir visit this exhibition and listen to its story.”

The artist must be a leader in society

Painter Yusuf Ahmet Fitoğlu reminded that as artists they have to lead and be a light to the society and said, “The society is both developing and liberating thanks to what we do. My understanding of art started spontaneously. My paintings have no story. You see what shape appears on the canvas. That's why my pictures are not alike. It makes me even more excited that different things are coming out,” he said.
