Before the delivery ceremony of TCG ANADOLU, the Ministry of Defense shared on its Twitter account that Bayraktar TB3 and KIZILELMA UAVs, designed and developed by Baykar, were placed on the runway of TCG ANADOLU. About the ceremony, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said on TRT Haber's live broadcast, "I hope our UAVs will land on it (TCG ANATOLIA) at the delivery ceremony of our aircraft carrier."
These two platforms are being developed in such a way that TCG ANADOLU can operate. In addition, the AH-1W Super Cobra attack helicopter, which was transferred from the Land Forces to the Navy, was seen on the ship's runway. S-70 Seahawk helicopters were seen at the back.
A large number of UAVs / SİHAs can be deployed in TCG ANADOLU
President of Defense Industry Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir made statements about defense industry projects in the Weekend program with Hakan Çelik. İsmail Demir announced that TCG ANADOLU was delivered and that the ship, whose personnel training continues, is ready for service.
Referring to the S/UAV capacity of TCG Anadolu, Demi made the following statements: “S/UAV capacity depends on the configuration you will make. The ship can carry 30 UAVs in its current configuration. It will be able to carry up to 70 or even 100 pieces when different designs are studied. If there is a pool in it, the number decreases, if not, it increases.”
TCG Anadolu has a storage area consisting of 2 floors and a runway. The ground floor of the ship is reserved for various land vehicles such as tanks, TTZA, ZAHA, which will be used for amphibious operations, and landing boats to carry these vehicles. The upper floor is the hangar section reserved for aircraft. These 3 areas can be used flexibly according to the task concept. Air vehicles can be placed on all floors, land vehicles can be placed on the hangar part and the ground floor, or containers can be placed on all these floors within the scope of humanitarian aid. In this sense, the ship has a flexible use.
