The construction of Adapazarı-Karapürçek-Akyazı Provincial Road and Kozluk Köprülü Junction, one of the highway investments that will strengthen Sakarya's transportation infrastructure, started with a ceremony held on Thursday, April 27. Deputies, bureaucrats and contractor company representatives were present at the ceremony attended by Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu and General Manager of Highways Abdulkadir Uraloğlu.

 A total of 93,3 million TL savings will be achieved annually

Stating that they have signed important projects in Sakarya, Minister Karaismailoğlu said that with the completion of the Adapazarı-Karapürçek-Akyazı Road, which they started today, they aim to provide the thermal destination of Karapürçek and Akyazı campuses, which have high-capacity geothermal resources, in terms of health tourism. Explaining that they started the project that will meet the transportation needs of Karapürçek and Akyazı and reduce the traffic density experienced especially in the summer months due to tourism, Karaismailoğlu stated that with the increase of the road standard, the transportation time will be reduced from 20 minutes to 10 minutes, and ultimately the safe flow of traffic will be established and the safety of life and property will be increased.

Expressing that the vehicles coming from the Adapazarı-Karasu direction will provide a high standard and uninterrupted connection to the Karapürçek district and Akyazı-Dokurcun-Mudurnu direction without entering the D-100 State Highway and the TEM Highway, our Minister said that thanks to the project, 84 million TL of time and 9,3 million TL from fuel oil. He shared the information that a total of 93,3 million TL of savings will be achieved, and carbon emissions will be reduced by 218 tons annually.

Stating that Kozluk Köprülü Junction will ensure uninterrupted and safe participation of Sakarya to the D-100 State Highway, Minister Karaismailoğlu said that the traffic density will be eliminated by transforming the intersection, which currently serves as a level crossing, to a bridge crossing, and Bekirpaşa Köprülü Junction, the construction of which has been completed on the TEM Highway. He said that he will provide a fast and uninterrupted passage of vehicles to Sakarya by using the .

“We are raising the transportation standard of Sakarya with highway investments”

Speaking at the ceremony, General Manager Uraloğlu said that they have increased the transportation standard of Sakarya, which is one of the centers of attraction for important investments in the Marmara Region, with road investments.

Uraloğlu announced that Adapazarı-Karapürçek-Akyazı Road, the construction of which has been started, has been designed with a length of 15 km, with bituminous hot mix coating, and 92 bridges with a total length of 3 m will be built within the scope of the project. Our General Manager informed that the Kozluk Köprülü Junction, which will be built in Kozluk region of Sakarya province of the D-100 State Highway, will be 6 km long in total, and said that the main body of the intersection will be 1,5 km long and the junction branches will be 4,5 km long.

Stating that by raising the standard of our roads, they also significantly increased the mobility, which is the lifeblood of the economy, General Manager Uraloğlu said that in 2022, 140,5 billion vehicles x km carried out by vehicles using the highways, 323,5 billion tons x km and 348,4 billion passengers in freight and passenger transport.
