Completing the necessary preparations for the intensity created by the addition of the April break holiday to the upcoming holiday, Sabiha Gökçen Airport is ready to reunite thousands of passengers from 150 routes with their loved ones.

At Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport (ISG), which provides flights to a total of 45 destinations in 50 countries with 150 airlines, the necessary preparations have been completed to avoid congestion during the Eid holiday.

Due to the citizens who want to spend their holidays in their hometowns or tourism regions, the density in the passenger terminal has started to increase. At Sabiha Gökçen Airport, which increased the number of passengers by 2023 percent in the first three months of 25 compared to the same period of the previous year, additional plans were made for the points where passenger density would be experienced during the holiday.

Maximum passenger satisfaction with technological solutions

ISG, which monitors all operational processes with the support of artificial intelligence, offers its passengers the services needed for a comfortable and enjoyable journey with a mobile application. Sabiha Gökçen, which has implemented the system that allows fast and easy access to domestic flights without a boarding pass, but only with a new chip ID card, enables transactions without the need for ground services personnel.

At the airport, which develops innovative solutions to facilitate flight and passenger experiences, a new arrangement was made at the domestic and international gates within the scope of the 2022 Bus Gate Expansion Project, and 15 international gates were added to speed up the operational processes. With the other project launched within the scope of 2023, it is aimed to expand the passport area and provide a good airport experience to the increasing number of international passengers.

Albayrak: 1 new destinations on 3 June

Airport CEO Berk Albayrak, who stated that necessary arrangements were made for the maximum comfort of passengers in food, beverage, parking and rest areas, said that expansion projects were carried out in the last year in the terminal, which has been on the rise in terms of air traffic and passenger density after the epidemic, and on the other hand, passenger satisfaction with digital solutions has been increased. He said it was increased.

Stating that flights to new destinations have increased as a continuation of the increase in international passengers, Albayrak said, "As of June 1, the UK's flag carrier airline British Airways and London Heathrow Airport, and Pegasus Airlines, Greece's Rhodes and Lesbos airports, a total of 3 new international flights. We are ready for the new season with its destination”.

Stating that the work continues without slowing down in order to maximize passenger satisfaction, Albayrak said, “We have completed all our preparations to provide the best service to our passengers, who we care about having a comfortable travel experience during the holiday holiday. We optimize the waiting time at the check-in and baggage delivery areas on our domestic flights, and provide our guests with many conveniences at every stage of their travels.

The airport, which closed the year 2022 with 30,8 million passengers, aims to further increase the number of visitors in the new season.
