Ahmet Murat Başaran (born 4 June 1974 in Ankara) is a Turkish singer-songwriter. Murat Başaran won the 1997nd place in the composition contest named Pop Show in 2. With the discovery of Şahin Özer, he released his first album, "Azıcık Ucundan", in November 1999. After 3 years, Hadi Sende Kudur album was released in August 2002. He is the lyricist of Hakan Peker's song Karam, which left its mark on 2000. During this period, he composed compositions for other artists such as Yalın, Gökhan Özen, Emel Müftüoğlu and Sezen Aksu.
Murat Başaran received the "Best Pop Male Artist" award at the 2005th Kral TV Video Music Awards with his third album titled Sana Ölürüm, which he released in December 12. In this album, the songs "Nankör and Sana Ölürüm" came to the fore. After 2,5 years, he released his album Canın Sağolsun on 7 January 2008. In 2013, he was included in the music charts again with his album "Here's O Sensin".
