Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality completed the Kuruçeşme station on the Akçaray tram line and started its voyages on the eve of the Ramadan Feast. It was announced that boarding from Kuruçeşme would be free on the eve of the day. During the holiday, Akçaray provided free service to Kocaeli residents. After the Ramadan Feast, Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tahir Büyükakın gave the order to continue free boarding for the people of Kuruçeşme, who have been waiting for the tram for a long time. For those who still prefer the tram for comfortable and safe transportation, boarding from Kuruçeşme station will continue for a while free of charge.

The Akçaray tram line reached a double line of 10 thousand 212 meters with the Kuruçeşme stage. Together with the 3-kilometer single-line warehouse area, the single-line length of the tram reached 23,4 kilometers. With Kuruçeşme station, the number of stops increased to 16.
