The six-part thriller series Invisible (Unseen) premiered on Netflix on March 29, and many people started watching it to see what it was about. It seems like a lot of people enjoyed the new series because now they are wondering if a second season will come out in the future. Of course, you can count on us to share everything there is to know about a potential Invisible season 2.
Invisible is a South African Netflix original created by Travis Taute and Daryne Joshua. It tells the story of cleaning lady Zenzi Mwale, whose life is turned upside down when her husband disappears after she is released from prison. In her quest to track him down, Zenzi uncovers a massive conspiracy involving violent criminals and a corrupt bank.
Blood & Water's Gail Mabalane stars as Zenzi Mwale. The rest of the cast consists of Vuyo Dabula, Brendon Daniels, Hein de Vries, Ilse Klink, Mothusi Magano and others.
Will there be a second season of Invisible?
Currently unknown. As of April 3, Netflix has not announced whether the thriller series will return with a second episode. However, if you are wondering about the possibility of the series being renewed, we can say that it is not very likely.
Invisible is an adaptation of the Turkish Netflix series Fatma, which has only one season. Since the original series only had one season, the South African version will likely do the same.
However, there could be an Invisible season 2 depending on how the first season ended. Fatma and Invisible have similar endings, while Invisible ends with Zenzi about to jump off a building, but we never see her actually jump. The writers could have purposely ended the first season this way to set up the second season. But at the same time, the writers might have wanted to end the series that way to make it slightly different from the original series.
The first season in Fatma ends with the protagonist attempting suicide by jumping from a building, but in the last few seconds we learn that she survived the fall. This could have been the perfect setup for season two, but season two didn't happen. So our guess is that Unseen is another type of one-shot series like the original.
