After the earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş, the children who came to Trabzon and were placed in dormitories with their families try to forget the pain of the earthquake in various activities.
Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality Transportation Inc. organized an event for earthquake victims at the Children's Traffic Education Park in Akyazı Sports Complex. Participating in various activities organized, earthquake survivor children both learned the traffic rules and had fun.
In the event called “Children to Hayde Traffic Education Park”, earthquake victims had the opportunity to learn traffic rules by driving battery-operated vehicles and bicycles. Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality Fire Brigade Department, Social Services Department, Youth and Sports Department, Culture and Social Affairs Department, Health Affairs Department also took part in the event, which included various play groups and theater plays.

Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Murat Zorluoğlu, who came to the Children's Traffic Education Park and met with the earthquake victims and their families, said, “Many of our citizens, most of them Kahramanmaraş, have come to our city from the earthquake region from the first moment. As guests, they stayed here as guests in private state dormitories, hotels and people's own homes. This number had risen to 18. Of course, it decreases over time. But they still continue to host our brothers and sisters in the earthquake zone in the best possible way. Especially Kahramanmaraş, which is the epicenter of the earthquake, is already the sister city of Trabzon and we have had special dialogues with Kahramanmaraş for many centuries. In that sense, we show a special sensitivity to Maraş.” said.

President Zorluoğlu also said, “We wanted to give an early holiday to the children of our earthquake victims who stayed here. Here we have built a beautiful facility for our children. There are some opportunities here, especially for the development of traffic awareness, but at the same time for children to have a lot of fun. Therefore, we wanted to provide this opportunity to our children. We brought the little children of our earthquake survivors, who live in 4 of our dormitories, here with our buses, and they are doing many activities here from morning until now. They are having a very good time. As I mentioned, we had an early holiday. Hopefully, with such events, with the other supports we provide, with opportunities such as some other supports, we are trying to ensure that our guests here, our fellow earthquake victims, and our citizens, do not feel the pain of the earthquake a little more. As Trabzon, we want to host them in the best way possible. And as long as they stay here, we will always have one hand on them.” used his statements.
